TikTok is officially banned right now
This is the megathread for the TikTok ban.
Anyone else who spams about it will receive a temp ban. I had to take down at least 5 different posts about it within the last 30 minutes.

Fucking hell, if it comes back I really hope that they don’t purge unused accounts. I have a friend who died a few years ago and his tiktoks are set to be undownloadable. I watch his videos every once in a while and I really don’t want that to be gone.
I wish I could peek and see what the fyp looks like rn. I need to see reactions.

edit: obviously it’s back now but either way yes, i agree with y’all- anything to minimize scrolling is a net positive for me personally for sure

jokes on you we have tiktok banned for 3 years and counting in russia, not that I miss it as much but still I could use the «western segment» for my entertainment

I was screen recording through all my saved sounds for almost 2 hours and captured the exact moment the ban went into effect

i really think it won’t be permanent. but honestly i don’t think it’s a bad thing if it were to be.
