US$2.19 in Argentina, successful in 2 accounts

Step:

  1. VPN on, set your region to Argentina in Google Play

  2. VPN on, in YT app, Get YouTube Premium, US$2.19 will show up, NOT ARS$
    (If it is showing ARS$, the payment will fail)

  3. Subscribe and you are done.

Note:

- Preferably a Samsung phone, not sure, as it shows Samsung Galaxy tag on Premium page

- Credit card added with an AR address before you make the purchase

- Don’t blame me if it doesn’t work for you (Apple ID method is still a solid way), instead let’s work on it.

This worked for me.

Go to pay.google.com and deleted all your payment method and profile. Add a new payment method with a Argentinian address. Wait for 1 hour for the changes to propagate.Kill the Youtube App and open it and navigate to Subscription area. The prices will appear in $, kick start a VPN to Argentina, and purchase a family or individual subscription. Payment will go through fine and you will get activated. Tried and tested in the UK.

Thanks a lot for sharing this. I was able to assign for family subscription (Argentina). I used Motorola phone but also used a completely new google accout created with VPN. Maybe this can help somebody.

Works so far. I had to let my subscription expire and as soon as it did, the method worked. Also works in new accounts.

But I had to (on PC): 1) leave the existing family group 2) delete all payment methods and add a new one (which also changed my region to ARG in Play Store on my Samsung S22, since I am locked in this 12 months period in which I can’t change my region manually).

My credit card is a Mastercard (via N26, german bank). I used a random argentinian adress for the payment profile.
Remember to do all this with VPN, set to ARG region - at the phone and on PC.

If using YT premium family, add a family member also when connected to a VPN.

What I didn’t test so far: payments with my S22 / Galaxy Watch via Wallet

Edit: Payments still work at Galaxy Watch. Nice!

Issues: couldn’t add my Visa to my argentinian payment profile for use via Wallet (only the Mastercard one). But that’s a minor issue.

I managed to subscribe using Bluestacks today! It showed the $4.29 price. But I cannot post on this sub (removed):

Like others my payment card (Revolut) doesn’t match billing country (Argentina). There was other post who tried Samsung phone + VPN to Argentina and it showed him $4.29 and he successfully subscribed. Using Android Studio Emulator - no matter how hard I tried it has always showed Argentinian currency ARS3699. Today Bluestack for Apple Silicon was released so I tried. And it worked!

I use system VPN TunnelBear (free). Installed Youtube app on the Bluestack. All payment methods got initially blocked due to suspicious activity on account and purchase weren’t able to complete. The trick was to disconnect from VPN (at the last step when you enter password to confirm purchase), let the connection timeout and re-connect VPN again.

I added VISA card as a backup which is not even allowed in Argentina.

PS: If you don’t see $4.29 → don’t try. It won’t work.

It worked for me but:

  1. Since I was already in a family group, I had to delete it, do the trick above, and recreate it.
  2. Before sending the invitations we made sure no one from the family group including the manager had any other payment profile than 1 from Argentina (or none). This check can be done from this page https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/settings . The deletion is done by selecting the unnecessary profile and then at the bottom of the page: Close Payment Profile.
  3. To join the group via phone - the family members had to install a VPN (e.g. TunnelBear) and set the location to Argentina. Afterwards, not needed. It was done via a Samsung phone, still unsure if another brand can do the trick.
  4. To join the group via PC, the family members did it via Bluestacks, where we can simulate the location (Argentina in this case) and switch device type to Samsung. It would probably work with a VPN, too, but I did not test it since I had already installed Bluestacks.

Hope this helps. I have been trying for 2 days now but finally did it.
