What exactly do they mean by this? It’s my first time using nord vpn
you need to allow it otherwise nordvpn will not be able to configure your vpn connection.
your phone is just making sure that you’re explicitly allowing it.
It means that if you send all your traffic over a VPN, the owner of this VPN can see all your traffic (obviously).
A VPN routes all of your traffic, duh doy. That puts them in a similar position to perhaps monitor it as your ISP normally would. If you don’t use the VPN, then your carrier is in a position to monitor (and log) all of the same data. It’s really a matter of who you trust more.
If you allow NordVPN to add to your VPN configurations you will be able to go into your device settings to turn on NordVPN instead of having to launch the app. As far as the msg about filtering and monitoring this is a standard disclosure from Apple (the device or OS maker) that Apple doesn’t protect your data independently from the VPN service.
I am very security conscious and I allow NordVPN to be added to my VPN configuration on my iOS devices. But if I were to choose one of those free VPN apps I would not.
Hope that helps
its a warning of android just allow it in this case but if you dont expect NEVER ALLOW IT but in this case you installed a VPN ( Nord ) and should expect this warning so allow it.
The words “filtered” and “monitored” had me a little scared. Is it completely safe?
Apple can still gather anything they want and send it to themselves over the VPN.
Since you can only get apps for an iPhone from their App Store, if it protected you from their spyware, they would just kick the VPN app out.
Yes. As long as you got the install from your app store.
that message will popup with any kind of vpn you wanna set up, it’s a general warning to remind you if it’s a faulty vpn with fake promises they can look at what you are doing.
You are unlucky, this vpn won’t do that
