What is the current "best VPN" private or public

Hi would just like your thoughts on what the current best VPN service is and why it betters compared to others? are there VPNs that are exclusively private to the user?

Also why would would it be better than others also price is no issue here.

I use the proton family of apps. The VPN, email, calendar. I haven’t tried the ProtonDrive yet

Any VPN you don’t personally operate should be considered bad. You can’t trust them.

Rent a cheap server from OVH, Hetzner, etc, then run your own VPN on top (my favorite way nowadays is to use Tailscale and enable exit nodes - easy peasy)

I mean I use nordvpn but only because I want to watch something on Netflix that isn’t in my country and other situations like that

Install routing and remote access on server 2019, configure VPN.

I second that opinion… stay away from chinese “free” VPNs also…

Proton Drive doesn’t work like Google drive sadly. It’s just a way of cloud storing documents that you can’t edit on proton. I hope they work that in someday cuz I don’t really like OpenOffice for writing lol

Nord vpn is non sense, u have to pay using credit card, and sign up using an email. Wtf is the point of using vpn if I need to provide this information

It’d take them a bit to develop a protonDoc, protonSheets, protonSlides, etc.

This is the first I’ve ever thought of them doing that lol. An encrypted cloud drive is fine by me

Yeah, it works great for storing so far, no issues! I like it, I just want more from it :rofl:

I see it as a risk/reward. If my proton gets hacked, it’s not as bad as my Google account.

Bad actors will still target Proton, but more will be targeting Google
