What should I do? I just signed up but I’m getting this warning and I have 0 GB of data. But I didn’t do anything, just registered and attached my mail.
Try using a vpn when you are signing up.
So, I actually had this same issue today. I’m still deciding between good VPNs so I wanted to use Windscribe for bit while I thought it over. This is what support sent me:
"Hi there,
Thank you for contacting Windscribe Support.
Your IP address is associated with no less than (26) accounts.
Creating multiple accounts to bypass bandwidth limitations, is considered an absolute violation of our Terms of Service.
As such, your account and all associated accounts have been banned.
Please elaborate on why this is the case, and we may reconsider the ban.
Sincerely,
Krishna"
What I *think* happened is that I signed up while using the VeePN Chrome extension. I feel like several accounts were likely created by people doing similarly so the IP addresses from that server appear to be abusing Windscribe (or maybe someone actually was). I’m waiting to hear back from them on this theory.
I don’t have any inside information, but from the message, even if it wasn’t your actions that lead to this (“previous abusive behavior from your network” could have come from somebody you’ve never met depending on what they mean by “your network”), your options are to use a different free provider or pay for a Pro account. Maybe somebody here will have an in that might help you get the block removed, but… that may not be the case either.
Id email support team and provide the screenshot and ask them if they can specify at all.
Do they still have the lifetime buy option? If so just do that.
Use VPN to sign up for VPN
Update: So no further communications, nor did they update any tickets BUT it seems I was correct as my data allotment has been fixed and my login is no longer throwing errors or banned. So keep this in mind if you happen to see a similar error and DO NOT use a VPN to sign up for a VPN apparently lol
Nah lol, haven’t had that in years, and never will have it again.
I nabbed one in 2016, think they discontinued them around 2018 (except for an occasional giveaway).
