Hey everyone! This is my first post in this this group. So sorry if I come off as a newbie lol. But since Google got rid of their VPN which I used everyday, I’ve been in a frenzy trying to figure out what VPN I should get. I only use have a phone in my house and use it to access the everything internet related, miscellaneous documents, medical information for not only me but for my disabled aunt and my elderly grandmother for whom I am caretaker of, etc etc. So I really relied on my VPN. I know that if you have a newer pixel a VPN comes standard but at this point in time being in my early (wellmid now lol) 30s and the state pays crap to caretakers lol I don’t think I can afford a new pixel unfortunately, so my question is to you lovely people, what would you guys suggest what VPN I should download And use on my pixel 6A, that isn’t too expensive but works good, is trustworthy, and again isn’t going to break the bank, and all around is just a good reliable VPN. I’ve spent a couple hours last night studying a few such as nordvpn, expressvpn, surf shark, and cyberghost after trying to find a good YouTuber that seemed to know what he was talking about, and try to research his video. I believe his name was “VPNpro” on YouTube if anyone’s heard of him or knows his content and if he’s a reliable source or not. I know I’m probably sounding like a crazy person babbling on about VPNs for so long but I just want to make sure that I get a good VPN since I go on a lot of medical sites and I just want to make sure that something bad doesn’t happen to my phone, I ended up in a bad spot like the dreaded Ascension issue I sadly was a part of a few or so months back, which happened to them a couple times so that kind of scarred me lol. Sorry for the TLDR!!! I’m assuming most of you probably didn’t make it this far, but if you did, thank you SOOO much and I hope that someone can lead me in the right direction. I appreciate you all so much whether you read this whole message or help me out. Have a great day everybody!!
You can try Proton, CopVPN and Windscribe.
What “isn’t to expensive” to you?
From your post, it doesn’t sound like you need to be worried about who keeps logs or where they are located, so any “reputable” company should be fine for you.
I have used PIA - “Private Internet Access” for years with no issues. Some people hate it, and some love it.
I would think any of the mainstream VPNs would be fine for you. If you are worried, just do month to month for a few months to see if it works for you. It is a bit more expensive than doing like a year plan but you won’t be tied to it for long.
Also probably a better sub to ask in. https://www.reddit.com/r/vpnreviews/s/nmVNFCMgGb
PS to my first response
Just don’t wanna pay like more than $4-5 a month if it’s possible if it’s a little more that’s fine.
Nope not all was just 4am where I was at and was trying to finish my thesis at the same time as well as was doing talk to text to and just trying to get my points across so I could finish my homework and get help from some nice people on reddit sorry I bothered your day so much. I apologize. Have a great one!
Thanks so much everyone for your suggestions I’m going to look and try as many of them as I can til I find the Best fit. I really appreciate all of you guys helping me. It really means a lot. Thank you again for all your help everyone you guys are the best and so helpful
nordvpn, proton and windscribe
Trying surfshark as it’s rated well and not overpriced. Pixel 6 and 6a should be included in the Pixel VPN.
Proton VPN Free has served my needs well, and it hasn’t cost me a penny. May upgrade to paid if I end up needing it but so far I haven’t.
I got one question. What makes you think you need a VPN? And what would you use it for?
you can access the vpn on your pixel still but not thru Google one. i am running it now
No one wants you read a massive block of text, There are these things called paragraphs.
Okay cool! Thank you for letting me know. I’ll look into those. I appreciate it
Thank you so much! I’ll check it out! I watch YouTube a lot and they make it seem like if everyone doesn’t have a VPN the world’s gonna end sometimes but I just liked having the free VPN from Google one I miss it lol. But I’m gonna check that sub out thanks so much:peace_symbol:
I don’t know all the VPN prices but an example, PIA is $12 a month but $3.33 a month if you pay for a year, so around $40 a year. $1.98 a month if you pay for 3 years, or around $70.
You may have to pay more to try it out but if you want to use it you can pay for a longer period to get cheaper prices.
WebSecureNow is the best VPN server you should consider. You can receive high-quality and easily accessible services at a minimal cost.
WebSecureNow is a great VPN provider to look at. You might obtain excellent quality, quickly accessible services for a reasonable price.
You would’ve thought for how much pixel 6 and pixel 6a cost but I think they just want those of us with the 6 and 6a to upgrade and are teasing us with yet another reason too!!
I’ve just had one built in with Google and I just liked the extra protection it made me have and I like that I can switch from different countries to watch different shows that I can’t watch here in the US too.
I’m sorry. Like I said I’m new to Reddit and I’m trying to learn how it works. Thank you for letting me know How people communicate on here and how they like to read things I didn’t know. I will do that from now on, thanks for telling me it’s such a nice way. I really appreciate it. Have a nice day
