When NordVPN is connected/active does every software running on PC goes through VPN?

When I open Netflix app, browsers or any geo locked service I immediately see that NordVPN is doing it’s job perfectly.

But what about all other software? I have one program I want to run through VPN but I don’t really know is it even using VPN or it goes through my real IP address.

By other software I mean something like Steam, Windows Store or any other trusted/untrusted software I may use where you can’t just check is it even using VPN.

Does ABSOLUTELY everything goes through VPN or some specific software can still use my real IP address which I absolutely don’t want!!! If I have NordVPN turned on I want everything to go through VPN which is totally expected and understandable.

Thanks in advance to all experienced NordVPN users!

Yes, if you’re using the NordVPN app, it masks the IP of your device for all software running on it by default (browsers, windows store, steam, discord, etc.). As of recent, there’s a split tunneling feature in the settings, which you can use to exclude some apps from running on VPN, but that’s not something you’re interested in, I suppose.
If you use the browser extension, however, it would only mask the IP for the browser and not other software on the device.

You can also limit the vpn to specific apps too

Interesting! I didn’t know this. Thanks for pointing it out
