I am trying to download my CyberGhost VPN on my steam deck, but for the Linux download, I need to have the proper server distribution. Does anyone know the proper option for the steam deck?
The Steam Deck uses Arch Linux, installing applications through pacman and the AUR isn’t recommended because a future system update will nuke it.
Try finding the client on the AUR.
To modify the system you can find guides all over the web.
It seems they support OpenVPN, you can download the .ovpn (configuration) file:
Then on the Deck you should be able to import that in desktop mode: click on the network / wifi icon → settings (two-slider-icon near top right) → add / plus icon (bottom center) → Import VPN connection… and open the downloaded .ovpn (configuration) file.
If successful the VPN connection should show up on the list when you click on the network / wifi icon, and you should be able to connect to it.
I am not sure if this would work or show up in gaming mode.
