The reason is I am considering getting a second VPN service besides Proton.
Like I mean I would be willing to save up $2000 or something to pay Mullvad with because lifetime Mullvad would be the ideal way to do things.
Why is there no lifetime subscription option for such an extensive VPN.
And now I get that using bridging doesn’t prevent the website from seeing me, but knowing what bridging is, I really don’t want any organizations I work at blocking my VPN access and Mullvad is the. Only VPN that offers both that and all of the following SIMULTANEOUSLY: cash mail payment, ability to make Tor work as a separate feature so that I can make anonsurf work with it, AND the reputability of ProtonVPN essentially so that I know it’s legit, and of course bridging. Oh and not to mention a number of other things because there’s an even longer list of reasons I am attracted to Mullvad like the jurisdictions it is in and the idea that I can sign up using Tor to access Mullvad’s website and simply generate an account to be paid for via mail without having to ever worry about my IP being breached months later. Like who came up with a system of destroying evidence of one’s identity by shredding non cash contents of an envelope? Brilliant.
Right now I use ProtonVPN but I would be willing to add in Mullvad too on my next laptop and potentially maybe even switch over eventually when I have all new devices.
I will probably keep ProtonVPN on iPhone because switching the same device over would be bad for anonymity. But I am considering Mullvad in the future for new laptops etc. And if I ever switch over to Android then Mullvad would be a great thing to switch over to.
Update: I forgot to mention how I like the idea on a Linux OS of automatically connecting to MullvadVPN upon startup of every time I connect to the Internet.
