I was considering getting it to stop seeing ads, but sheesh … it is more expensive than most streaming services (Disney+, Amazon Prime, Netflix, F1TV, AcornTV, etc.) at $17.99 a month or Youtube TV - $72.99 a month … sheesh!
I am now actively looking for alternatives to Youtube now.
Depends on the country. I was able to subscribe for an yearly plan through my friend in India and I am paying only $15 per year for YouTube Premium. You need a local payment method and a VPN to see pricing for that country. Once you’ve paid you can use normally anywhere in the world without VPN.
Hello, kiwittnz. We’d like to start off by noting that this sub isn’t owned or run by YouTube. If you are encountering issues with paid services, such as YouTube Premium or Memberships, please take a look at this page to learn more about paid-services support.
Yes there is; adblock. I use youtube premium for the convenience of having the apps on my phone. But these prices are getting out of hand for US customers. Countries abroad have the same shit for nearly 10 times less the price.

The Technology has been around for at least 5-6 years to inject ads via the Server. I’m guessing that Youtube was saving this as a last resort because I think it’s more expensive to deliver ads this way. Some tech savvy people have already found work arounds to avoid the ads, but the fix is only temporary. VPN’s are probably the easiest method to avoid watching any ads if you’re connecting to a country like Albania. They haven’t started blocking VPN’s yet, so this is the best method for now.
