Will I get banned for using a VPN?

so I’ve had tons of packet loss in the past three days and it’s getting worse, contacted my ISP, they checked hardware, network, and show zero packet loss on my network, great ping yada yada, so I’m looking into getting a VPN or something like Exitlag, TOS say absolutely dick about VPN’s being an issue, but I see tons of people saying they started up the game the day they decided to use a VPN and got banned.

A VPN will make your ping worse.

You shouldn’t get banned by using a vpn, but it probably won’t fix the packet loss it’s just the servers

VPN usually don’t get you banned, BUT:

  • some VPNs change your IP frequently during connection. This is a highly suspecious behavior from the server’s perspective and it may think you’re cheating.
  • if another one by chance used your IP and was cheating, you may be put into a “suspecious cheater” pool and your game matching will be very slow. It’s unclear how you can get out, but you can get out after a few games.

I have been using sbmmoff vpn to get easy lobbies for about a year and i have never been banned.

going into another country ruins the game.
You have such a high ping it’s bad enough we getting all the Chinese hackers into our server here.

I only see it when you go out of a region is to play with your mates but not make it a constant thing to be playing in say Germany and using your VPN to Texas.

did you get banned from modern warfare for using a vpn?

It depends on what VPN you use, some will definitely help with packet loss, low ping and not get you banned. Check it out yourself https://www.anonymistic.com/best-vpn-for-call-of-duty-warzone/

Not sure if this thread needs this, but I’ve been using a VPN everytime I play COD. Today was unfortunate, I disconnected my VPN in a private lobby (in which I was warming up in before streaming), which made me disconnect from the server (obviously), but when I went to log back in, I was permanently banned from the vanguard servers.
So be careful as their anti cheat can some how pick up on it.

I have no lag, constant ping, it appears as lag but it’s packet loss I’ve had the packet loss symbol show up consistently during games for the past three days with no change in ping. A VPN will cut network congestion reducing packet loss.

can you get banned for using nolagvpn?

well that’s good i’m just concerned because me kd spike a bit since i’ve been using it lol i also highly doubt it’s bannable anyways

What servers do you use?

I wouldn’t be using a VPN from another region, or trying to play in another region, I’m actually in Texas and would use a VPN with Dallas or Ft.Worth server.

I’m moving to germany Oct 24th, most of my gaming buddies are east coast united states. Would it be a better experience for all of us if I did use a VPN? Would that keep us connected in American servers and not drag all of Europe into this?

I don’t care if my up is detected, I have no need to hide it, I just want to get rid of packet loss.

Never bothered using one since their TOS is such a vague blanket statement to allow them to do what they want in any particular case.

the ban wasnt from the vpn or disconnect lol it was something else

I get it, but it will introduce high latency in addition to your existing problems, hehe. Or in exchange for them, maybe.

ooooh
.
Apology’s mate, I actually don’t know then because your still in the same state and country so makes no sense
