So I’ve heard a lot about VPN’s being used by streamers, but doesn’t it mean that you will face opponents primarily from that location?
How does it benefit the player who is using them?
Why do streamers choose to use them?
Important note, I’ve got a VPN, I don’t use it on my modem, just handheld devices for when I’m out and about and need to use my banking apps. I have no interest in using one for CoD, I have earned every single win I’ve had and intend to continue to graft the dubs.
I tried nolagvpn for a month out of curiosity. I got the lowest level lobbies I’ve ever gotten pretty consistently. Like a 1.10 lobby was on the higher end. It was usually anywhere from .8 to 1 even. The occasional .5 and .6 legit bot lobbies
Funny thing tho is most lobbies are filled with low skilled players and then a few teams who also use nolagvpn. So the lobby is 3 or 4 cracked out teams and the rest average to below average players
Matchmaking VPNs do not work like your standard VPN.
They exist purely to bypass the score based match making and attempt to trick the match making service to find you a game based one fastest connection. This doesnt always guarantee a bot lobby; though it significantly increases the chances.
Check out tournaments for money. I’ve seen certain big streamers who routinely get 15+ kill games drop to like 2 when surrounded by other pros instead of bots and normies.
They use them to get into lower K/D lobbies. Streamers that use them are able to consistently get into sub 1 k/d lobbies. Without the vpn, they’d be playing in 1.2+ lobbies.
I Tried no lag vpn.
To be honest i was trying to just get my ping lower like the product claims but ended up getting 100+ ms servers in like Hawaii or something.
Wasnt what im looking for…
Dont really care about bot lobbies or sbmm myself
I got one yo test it out and it’s so random. Sometimes you’ll find 4 out of 5 games to be easy but other times it would be as sweaty or even sweatier cuz you’ll play against other vpn users
Isn’t it common sense? When you drop in and get shreked by good players, you are not having a fun time… on the other hand, when you drop into a bot lobby and get 20+ kills against terrible opponents, you’re having a very very fun time…
Standard VPNs route ALL of your traffic to the desired location.
Matchmaking VPNs route only your matchmaking to some far off location. The game will struggle to find you opponents that match your skill level in the desolate geo location . Cod will then prioritise finding you a match based off of the fastest game it can find. Which will be local to you and not based on the skill levels of opponents.
