FireTV Stick: Different country-versions of Prime Video through VPN?

Is there a way to use the stores of different countries for Prime Video on the Fire TV Stick?

On PC (through ExpressVPN) I can use the UK and US stores to stream exclusives without problem.

On the Fire TV stick, using the App, it doesn’t seem to change to the region specific versions I would hope, when using a VPN.

And through the Silk-browser I can log into the UK-store, for example - but the films still won’t play.

Is there a way to do this?

Your region for your Fire TV is that of your Amazon account. It’s under settings/devices/preferences.

So, on PC, I use the same account for the different regional sites.

I’m from Germany, so german Prime account - when I use a VPN with an english location and go to the UK amazon page, and the log in there with my german account, I can watch all the free movies/shows that engish Prime users get. Same with the US version of Prime.

If I understand you correctly, the region of the Fire TV stick itself prevents this from working?

Not the region of the Fire Stick, your account region specified on amazon.de

The security is stricter on FireOS. FireOS also offers 4K streams that aren’t available on PC.

So, is there a way at all? Sideloading a different Prime Video app, maybe?

You could try sideloading the Android version of Prime Video, I’m not sure if regional content is still tied to the account region there, or if a VPN might work.

Sideloaded Android Prime Video will be limited to 1080P streams if that matters to you.

Install Easy Fire Tools on an Android phone or tablet. Use that to send and install apps to the Fire TV easily:

Download the AndroidTV version from a Google Play mirror like PureAPK:

Or install the Downloader app from the Amazon App store on the Fire TV and go to the PureApk URL to download the APK.

Yeah, doesn’t work unfortunately.

The Android TV app still recognizes the region - I get the stuff from the chosen country in the VPN, but when I try to watch it, there’s a region error.
