Total AV is a well known scam - I would absolutely NOT use it.
Is that what Fortect is? Well alright. Thank you.
“It does as it’s intended/stated, what sucks is that the trial only lasts for 24 hours”
Does this mean that after 24 hours, the computer reverts back like it was befor fortect? And if I buy it use it for a year, but uninstall it later, does the computer revert back to the problems before?
Just here to second this answer. I changed from MB to Fortec and it helped me find a low-level rootkit (took some time tho)
Also Fortect wont harm your pc atleast i dont think i had it for a year and no issues were found
Im getting a wmiaprpl.dll 1008 error and a sysmain.dll win 32 error 1023 idk if you had gotten these but im desperatly tryna fix these broken/corrupt registries,Its crashing my games within minutes…straight to restarting the pc…a few blue screens…does this correct them? Cuz going in there manually im gona screw something up more
That wasn’t the issue. I apparently had mouse keys turned on. I didn’t even know that was a feature. The problem is fixed but the main question of the post remains.
Windows crashes and you do a clean install and still have issues…. This sounds like a hardware issue. On a clean install of windows you found 4000 issues from Fortect? Sounds suspicious to me.
I have since changed my stance on Fortect. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. I’ll be honest I was desperate to repair my drives a year ago. Now I’m dealing with predatory auto-renewal policy.
see my issues were similar and I got fortect and got a year long license for it and it was after I used it that my comptuer started going on the fritz. I deleted most the files, but I can not get the app to unintall, even after I uninstall it it comes back. It also had similar numbers for things it repaired and protected and stuff and. The numbers almost seem the same on everyone who has used it
man i can’t have fortect license i cant afford it
Fortect prompts to activate before being able to fix anything.
“Activation” is free for the trial version, it’s just so they can attach a name and eMail to the free code they had out. Use a throwaway one if you want to be anonymous.
yes it did this to me too.
There’s a very easy and surprising fix for this - I had the same problem, put up with it for ages but somewhat fortuitously found this: https://www.tweaking.com/. Fixed all the permission to modify etc issues, as well as Microsoft Store app issues that seemingly couldn’t be fixed without a full clean W11 install. Recommended, but as always be careful and only check what you need.
I’m about to uninstall Fortect now. What alternative program do you recommend for us to use? Someone here mentioned CCleaner but what are your thoughts?
Same, and i deleted allt he files but when I delete the “app” which certainly holds the bulk of the files it comes back once my computer restarts
Malwarebytes doesn’t seem to block it.
no it doesn’t revert any performance changes made on the computer, it simply means that the trial you have is over after that 24 hour time period, just like an anti virus or some other similar program, doesn’t undo any changes made.
You’re welcome anytime
Yea I was a bit taken back by it. I also ran an sfc scan and it found corrupted windows files.
Windows crashed after installing valorant/vanguard on Friday which resulted in losing all files on my c: drive. I chose this as an opportunity to upgrade my storage drives to two M.2s. Thought my troubles were over but…
Ever since the clean install with those new drives I’ve had issues when I boot games. I’m thinking of updating my bios later for good measure. I’ve never encountered this level of instability with my computer before this weekend. I’m hoping it’s not hardware since I literally just purchased the drives.
