Fortect vs Malwarebytes

So I noticed my number pad wasn’t working and I was searching for ways to fix it. Found a site called “windowsreport” and it said in one of it’s options to download Fortect. So I did, and it gave me a SLEW of problems with my PC that Malwarebytes FAILED to detect. It includes, but not limited to, 3k+ privacy traces, 800+ broken registries, and 200+ crashed programs.

I proceeded to do start a scan with Malwarebytes and it detected nothing wrong. What’s going on? Is Fortect just doing this to bait me into buying it?

Apologies if I am using the incorrect flair.

Any speed up your PC or boosting programs are absolute snake oil bullshit and themselves a danger to your PC. Uninstall it.

Alright let me just clear the air here, since almost everyone in this posts comment section aren’t answering your question.

Yes it does work, yes it does exactly what it says and shows, yes the problems it finds during it’s scans are real and yes it does fix them or at the very least attempts to fix them and yes in my case it did make my laptop faster after i cleared the problems within fortec.

It does as it’s intended/stated, what sucks is that the trial only lasts for 24 hours lol, but still I think the $$$ for the license is worth how much of a boost in performance is given after you resolve the problems through fortec

This is all just my experience though and results would vary between everyone, but for me it works well.

I know im late but fortect isnt lying 3K+ privacy traces are just from google cookies and stuff it even says that in the description of that thing i dunno about the broken registries but the crashed problems arent wrong either (atleast from my experience) i sometimes play roblox and it crashed my computer into a blue screen with I forgot which error message but after fortect it seemed to work just fine? Anyways Toodles! hope i helped you somehow

free trial doesn’t work for me can anyone help

Hi there!

I wanted to share my positive experience with Fortect. I recently used it to scan my PC, and it identified several issues, like broken registries and crashed programs, that Malwarebytes missed. Following their recommended fixes made a big difference, and my system is running smoothly now. Their customer support was also responsive and helpful. If you’re dealing with similar problems, I’d recommend giving Fortect a try, as long as you follow their instructions. Hope this helps!

I use both they do things different they work well together

thanks for asking this question, i read the answers and am definitely gonna try fortect. im always skeptical of apps im not familiar with, but having people confirm it actually helps, makes me at least want to give it a shot

Have you tried pressing the Num Lock key?

Going to be honest, my windows crashed a few days ago so I did a clean install. Since then I’ve been having a ton of issues. After trying everything under the Sun, I got a Fortect license and it seems to have helped. The program found 4000+ issues between broken registries, corrupted files etc.

Anyone have a Fortect activation key they dont need _,o.0,_

I can advice you to download CCleaner, fix PC then uninstall it

First, MalwareBytes and any “system maintenance utility” like Fortnet are no comparable. MalwareBytes is anti-malware, and is not intended to reveal overall system issues.

I have NO experience with FortNet. It appears it is one of countless utilities like it.

As an alternative, I can easily recommend CCleaner. I’ve used that for MANY years on now hundreds of PCs, and it not once has been the cause of problems. The “free” version can remain installed and be used periodically. I have the paid version (SO long ago I grandfathered in to a lifetime license!). The paid version can be set to automate many CCleaner tasks. You almost certainly do not NEED the paid version unless you desire that functionality.

Skimming Fortnet it appears an initial install is a 24-hour trial, after which you should pay or uninstall. If I’m reading it right, it’s pretty useless after 24 hours. By comparison, CCleaner (presently and still) has a true “free” version and is not time-limited in its functionality.

Having said all that, I suggest a few settings in CCleaner I always make when leaving a free version installed. Also, I do not ever use the Driver Updater! I rarely use the Software Updater. YYMV.

For other people’s systems that aren’t tech savvy, I deselect every option in customize during the install. Once installed, in CCleaner settings, a few options:

Smart Cleaning: all off

Updates: your choice, but I suggest deselecting automatic updates for free version users. No need to have it constantly pestering.

Advanced options: select the two options to delete only after 24-hours (one is on by default).

Even in the paid version I use the Performance Optimizer as a suggestion list only. I’m a MS certified engineer so prefer to handle such issues manually. It’s quite handy that CCleaner tattles on such heavy-hitting apps though.

I ALWAYS configure Custom Clean, some highlights are for all browsers cleaning cache, “index files”, and “temp” files. Go ahead and clear download history Etc. if you want - I sometimes find that handy to leave intact.

I deselect emptying the Recycle Bin (I rarely use it, but IF I did want to I want to be able to ! If free space is that desperate it’s time for a bigger drive. I also enable temp files, clipboard, memory dumps, chkdsk files, WER, Wndows delivery optimization, and web cache.

Apps under Custom Clean you’re on your own - the list largely depends on what you have installed.

Anyone have a key for Fortect?

You should look at the issues detected, most are harmless. I downloaded and ran Fortect, I didn’t see any scareware like the usual PC Cleaners, they let me fix the issue I wanted for free too. Definitly not hating on this software…

Yup even clearing the register will require you to buy package from the software. Deleted it right away. downloaded it from the site called windows report after keep getting NSIS error message.

uninstall It no questions asked

Fortect prompts to activate before being able to fix anything.

I would avoid installing this, unless you’re happy to pay for it.

Run as far away from this program as you can! This program royally screwed with the security permissions on my system and it took myself and 3 Microsoft technicians one month of troubleshooting to determine it was the Fortect program that was causing all of it and it wasn’t a Windows or user related error. How many of you have received that random error when you go to download and/or save a file to a specific target location that states, “don’t have permission to modify files in this network location. Contact administrator per permission?” Yeah no matter how we adjusted the security permissions, sfc scan, icacls command, taking ownership of files, clean boot, deleting the original microsoft profile/creating another one/moving files to the new profile, system restore point, etc., nothing would correct that error EXCEPT for uninstalling Fortect. To verify it was this application, I reinstalled Fortect with Microsoft having remote access to my desktop after we had fixed the security permission error and the problem returned within 20 minutes of Fortect running. Uninstalling it again solved the issue immediately. Fortect would not stand behind their product when I requested a refund but were more keen on obtaining the logs and data that we had proving that it was their program causing the security permission issues. It was a very insincere apology of “Sorry that happened to you and unfortunately we cannot provide you a refund but we would be very interested in gathering data logs from you and the steps you took to resolve the issue.” Yeah no thanks, I spent a month figuring it out. Fix your own program. As I said before, run far way from this program and software company!

Someone’s been scamming you, holy shit. I’ve never paid that much for Malwarebytes.
