I’m trying to access a website through Tor and it’s got Cloudflare blocks in place. I’ve tried spamming the new circuit for an unblocked node but everyone seems to be blocked. I’ve tried using a couple free web proxies but they’re all blocked as well. If I were to buy a paid SOCKS5 proxy let’s say, would those be more likely to work when configured through the proxy settings over a free one? Or is there another better way to access Tor-blocked sites?
The websites don’t block your proxy based on whether it is paid or not. You should check whether it is listed in spam database or not.
Please forgive my tardiness. I’m a layman, so take it easy on me. Why would you use a “free” proxy server, “free” VPN or free anything as such? I learned a saying somewhere, and that is “if you’re not paying for the product, then YOU are likely, the product.” These entities have to make money somehow, and the y do that by selling your information.
I wasn’t originally wanting to use the free proxies but I thought I would try them out to see if the concept of using them would work. I’m happy to pay for premium services if it means they work flawlessly
Also, needing to pay for a service, even a small amount, has been shown to deter bad actors somewhat, although not the serious organised kind I guess.
Yes, because it increases the effort required to remain anonymous by an order of magnitude.
