I’ve used Nord for about 3 years now and this last year has been very frustrating, especially the last few months. Half the time I can’t connect. Quick connect doesn’t work, changing the protocols doesn’t work, just stays on “Connecting…”.
I thought it was my WiFi so I ended up changing providers… still no change! When it stops connecting, I can’t connect through either one of my laptops or my phone. What’s going on, Nord? Why are you dropping the ball? Is it time to switch? All of my IT friends used to love Nord a couple of years ago, now I hardly hear anything particularly positive.
Have any of you guys experienced a worse service quality?
Yes. Some random difficulties connecting and have to try a few servers to get it to work. Other times my apps will say they have no internet connection so I disconnect Nord, try the apps again and they work. I then reconnect to Nord and the apps are working. Rarely had any problems at all the past 5 yrs. Something is not quite right these days.
Is it possible that it could be another problem? For my case, my new router doesn’t switch between 5ghz and 2.4ghz smoothly, (in the end I solved it by making them 2 different SSIDs). During that time when they were the same, NordVPN kept looping in connecting… every time I moved around the house.
I had been using NordVPN also for about 4 years and it does work pretty good for me in Germany. The only thing is that I lately get “Reconnect because server will shutdown soon” messages, but other than that it works just fine.
working perfect here since day one, and before anyone says anything no I’m not being paid by Nord to say it (random guy made that comment about another person).
95% of the time it works well, the other 5% are random log outs, meaning using not-vpn protected internet to log in to the website to use the service and a terribly slow app. Don’t know what it is but the app is so slow that half the time I don’t know if my clicks even registered. So pretty much the same.
Can confirm I’ve had the same issue, I recently had an issue were the app on my phone wouldn’t work and after troubleshooting with support they eventually told me it was a known issue. Naturally I asked for a refund and was denied
It could be your line which would be the same regardless of provider. We’ve got a rubbish copper wire and Openreach won’t replace it so we’re kinda in limbo. If you’re in the UK you could contact your provider and ask them to get Openreach out to investigate. It’s pretty hit and miss though. Some engineers are good, others just fob you off. Basically, I don’t think it’s Nord but it does like a stable connection and if it doesn’t have one, it grumbles!
Had the same issues recently, it used to be perfect but the, Egyptian government have done something. Didn’t have any problems whilst I was in European countries in August. I guess they’ll get back to being a step ahead sooner or later.
