Is there a project for a free VPN in firefox?

Like in Opera? Now that the extensions are back this would make Firefox pure gold, especially on mobile.

If the VPN is free, your data is the payment. VPN take money to run.

ProtonVPN has a free tier. They also have a browser extension for it.

There is no free VPN. There’s free tier with some providers that are very limited so they can convince you to pay, like protonvpn, but a truly free VPN, that does not exist. You pay for it, one way or another.

Just think about everything your ISP can see from you. Now that VPN provider can see that. Do you really want all that data to be available to some sketchy “free” VPN provider? Do you honestly trust that? That’s less safe than just letting your ISP handle it.

Mozilla runs a paid VPN service. It’s pretty nice. But because of that, I doubt they will do a free one in Firefox.

No but you can try Windscribe VPN comes with 10GB of data that renews every month and for an extra 5GB you can Tweet about them. I would never recommend Opera little alone the built in VPN.

Just use VPNGate. All VPN glow in the dark. Even pay ones.

Have you tried tor browser ?

No such plans, but cloudflare has one

for the free version?

Honestly proton’s free tier isn’t that limited.

And yes, I would trust proton.

Proton offers the free service because it is subsidized by the paid users.

Why does it give me 2gb?

Yeah I should have asked first before suggesting.

And True… yet “Free VPNs” are a bit sketchy. Those VPN extensions / plugins aren’t great.

ProtonVPN has a free tier, just not for the browser extension
