I have tried to use Netflix while on the VPN and it seems to always detect I am using a VPN unless I keep switching and trying again on another server. Eventually I either find an IP that works or quit in frustration.
I am trying to connect to an Australian server but it seems only Perth servers seem to work (on occasion). None of the Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane or Adelaide servers seem to work for me.
Is there anything the Windscribe team can do to rotate these IP’s or use their special method of circumventing these restrictions?
Netflix can be quite picky with VPNs. I’ve had similar struggles where certain servers work, and others don’t, especially with specific locations like you mentioned. It’s frustrating for sure, but I think sometimes it’s just about finding that one server that does the trick.
I’ve personally found using this ISP proxy for specific tasks can sometimes yield better results, especially when it comes to streaming services. Cheers!
This is something on Netflix side. The servers all act like Windflix so they already are specialized. Netflix detects the large fleet of IPs and blocks it, Windscribe rotates those IPs due to them being dynamic.
In other words, it’s an endless war between blocking and unblocking.
You needing to reconnect several times is “normal” to try and find a none blocked IP. Windscribe is planning on introducing something to auto rotate or by a click of a button to change your IP instantly.
force close the app. Make sure not running in background
connect to VPN
launch Netflix. If you have more then 1 profile select another profile first and see if your getting the country you set your VPN to and if so, go back to your other profile.
I always use the US server and I rarely have any issue.
Thanks for that. I hope that feature comes out soon on mobile and on the browser extension soon. Bit annoying having to do trial and error locating an IP address that works and then 20 minutes into an episode get the VPN error, needing to do trial and error and so on…
Well it may train it to block more and more IPs but if they’re dynamic it will constantly change. Switching IP may find an unblocked one to watch Netflix and limit the traffic on a specific server to reduce the chance of it being flagged.
