I’m currently trying to buy a flight from Cancun to Mexico City and the above error message keeps appearing. I have tried on multiple cards with the same result. The airline has put my tickets on hold for me for 24 hours, but when I go to pay on this the same error message occurs. Any idea on how to effectively buy flights with Aeromexico?
Aeromexico is always quirky. It’s almost as bad as Air Asia. Try another browser or their app.

Have you tried a different browser or their app? Almost every time I’ve had an Aeromexico flight, I’ve dealt with at least one weird web glitch, with buying my ticket, or checking in, or something, that is resolved by waiting a few hours or using another browser.
I had the same problem last week when trying to book a flight on aeromexico from within Mexico. They apparently will only take a Mexican credit card if the reservation was booked from within the republic of Mexico.
We had to go in person to an aeromexico office and have them convert the reservation to a new one in Mexican pesos (which includes a $40 service charge) in order to pay with a US credit card in Mexican pesos.
The other option would possibly be to have someone in the US book the trip and pay all from the US. If you try to book from a Mexican IP address it makes it impossible to pay. You could also try booking from a US based VPN and then paying while connected with a US IP address, but not sure if this would work or not.
I have been trying to book a flight from Amsterdam to Cancun and oh man, it’s been 4 hrs of trying. I tried to call them and they also couldn’t help me due to an u known error. They’ll call me tomorrow to see if the error magically disappeared. The customer service guy was very kind and helpful, there was not much he could do.
I tried: different browsers, incognito, devices, WiFi no WiFi, call and also waited few hrs to retry again.
I’ve literally this second had the same issue and changed the payment from credit card to a debit card and it worked straight away - sadly not the ideal solution but got the job done. Hope you got yours sorted and have a great trip

I have managed to book! A lot of hassle to buy a single ticket. In order to book I used the Mexican website (with all prices in pesos) rather than my home country, and pay using PayPal. I just had to accept that I would pay a little more because of conversion rates. Even then I got an error message saying something had gone wrong, but when I check my emails I had email confirmation. Happy days.
This worked for me! Thank you. It was *imperative* to change the currency to MXN (pesos) before continuing. When the price is in USD, paypal is not an option for some reason.
Can you tell me how you paid with PayPal? I rarely use my PayPal account so maybe there’s something I’m missing but I don’t see it as an option on the Aeromexico site. I’m getting that same error message when I try using a card, waited hours in between, tried multiple browsers and the app!

I never figured it out. Never got through to customer service on the phone or anything either. Ended up booking with Viva Aerobus instead which was incredibly simple.
I called and was able to pay but it the phone call was 52 min long
