Not working for me. Tried TCP and UDP to Australia, still says “content still encrypted.” I changed the download server to AU on steam and all that as well. Any ideas?
You have to have the VPN running to matchmake, but you can play solo and possibly in custom offline friend games with it disabled (open the game, disable VPN, game won’t exit).
Ping feels like 300-500, it’s pretty garbage. I’ll probably just play offline to unlock stuff with my friends until NA servers get up.
I managed to get a game in so far using the VPN. I connected to Korea. There was some not insignificant lag, but it was totally playable. Making a video of my first match now.
Connect the VPN, launch the game, as soon as the game starts opening up and steam says u are in Evolve, turn the VPN off. Let steam reconnect, go into Evolve, it should be sitting at the starting screen.
Once you press enter now, it logs in with your current IP instead of VPN.
Alright, I’ve unpacked it, tried connecting to Australia, Korea, Offline mode, Online mode, Steam restart. Nothing. I’ll click play and nothing happens, what am I doing wrong? I haven’t done a system restart yet.
I would be very careful with this VPN - users can also connect through your connection and assume your IP. Just a warning - as I have encountered the police at my front door because of SoftEther. I also only installed it and didn’t change any of the default settings so just make sure if you do install you make sure your connection isn’t able to be accessed from the other end! Just my experience!
I found a few posts on google whilst searching this and the majority state that as long as you have purchased it from your own country then there is not a problem with using a VPN. I think the main gripe that Steam would have is people avoiding taxes to buy it cheaper.
