Does anyone have a way to watch Skytv from overseas? I use a VPN to watch bbc and all4, but have never figured out a way to easily watch sky programming.
NowTV is Sky’s streaming service. You do have to pay a subscription fee though. It has a good selection of shows from the Sky package. It doesn’t allow for roaming in EU countries anymore, because of the B word. But I can’t see why it wouldn’t work with a VPN.
Do you find your VPN worked for bbc? It seems to know I’m using one ? Used nord and mullval
Most of sky’s content is either from HBO or made in collaboration with, so might be easier going to source.
Now TV, but it’s subscription. They have most Sky content.
Hadn’t realized it’s been abbreviated to B.
Mullval doesn’t work at all, but I use nord and it works fine. Just try switching the servers around. I think I occasionally find one that doesn’t work.
Astrill with the extra 5USD private VPN location.
That’s the only reliable way I’ve been able to access BBC via a VPN. Them and sometimes ALL4 and Netflix know as well.
I also have the Astrill router which is just blimmin amazing and negates the need for the app at home.
Yeah, I usually have to torrent things that I really want to see. Just checking if anyone has found an easier way.
Haha! Some subs don’t allow that kind of talk, so it’s safe to just abbreviate it.
Thank you kind stranger
Really? Nord works for me on BBC and All4
What Sky stuff are you trying to get? Most of their original shows have US homes nowadays. Peacock and HBO Max have picked up a bunch of Sky’s active TV shows.
When our dog is around and it’s Vet appointment, we say going to the V to communicate among us humans or that pooch will raise such a fuss to get into the car. Soon we’ll have to find an alternative to V.
I’ve lived in China for over a decade, Nord never cut it. Neither did Express. Astrill has been the only one to ever manage to fool the BBC as well as get though the great firewall with reliability.
At sensitive times of the year the China government ramps up the Internet restrictions as well, and I’d see people complaining they couldn’t stream British telly with Nord or Express, and I’d be sitting there scoffing cheese on toast whilst watching Homes Under The Hammer, not wanting to rub it in
stuff like Rob & Romesh vs
that sounds above my internet skill level.
Yes we used to have to spell out b.a.t.h for the dog, then she started to recognise the sound of those letters meant bath, so we had to keep changing it. They’re smart!
Ohh, gotcha. Yeah, it works fine in the US.
You are probably in trouble with unscripted and game/sketch show type stuff. I’ve noticed almost all of the big U.K. scripted shows get picked up in the streaming era but that non-scripted still does not travel well. It is much the same with the opposite way with it being tougher to get US non-scripted in the U.K. than US scripted. Those shows do not seem to travel as well for some reason.
