It seems like every other time I log into Doordash (customer, not driver), I also have to log into my email to get that stupid code so I can sign in… Also, a lot times, the “Send to email” option doesn’t even show up, so I can’t log in at all because I can’t receive the verification code via SMS… I don’t understand how this is not a major issue for the UX/development team… it’s incredibly frustrating and has been this way for over a year… It just blows my mind that they haven’t made it easier to log in (especially considering how much they’re paying engineers, you’d think they’d figure this out). My DoorDash account is 10x harder to get into than my bank/brokerage accounts which have hundreds of thousands of $ in them… but no… DoorDash is so important that they need to require 2-factor auth every other time I log in… Don’t want any “hackers” getting into my account and ordering their family a $500 steak dinner… This is the main reason why I often just use DoorDash to look at nearby restaurants and then just call the restaurant to order directly… so frustrating
Bro it’s for you benefits so if some one ever tries to hack into your account you can be aware
You on iPhone or Android? iPhone here and it just keeps me signed in. Only ever signs me out when the system goes down and even then just a password and I’m in. I just checked and 2 factor isn’t even an option for me…
2 step verification is incredibly important in keeping your information safe would you rather just have a higher chance at your info getting stolen?
I used to be annoyed by this feature on every app until my partners Robinhood account got hacked. Now I turn it on all the time
This use to happen to me. Then one day I changed my password and it finally stopped.
I get that, but who is going to hack my DoorDash account… and if they do, what are they going to do with it? I’m almost comfortable giving you, a random Redditor, my DoorDash password because the worst you can do is buy something on my credit card, then I’ll report it as fraud and won’t have to pay for it…and maybe the credit card company will send a bill to the address you got your order delivered to lol… What “benefit” am I getting exactly?
You guys are getting safety features?
DD loves making sure nobody has the same thing so they can protect themselves from lawsuits
Yes. I would. Someone getting into my DoorDash account has almost no consequences in my life because if they charge anything to my credit card, I’ll just dispute the charge. It’s basically the same as requiring 2 step verification on my Reddit account… If you figure out my DoorDash/Reddit password and mess with my account, it will be annoying, but ultimately less annoying that dealing with this 2FA crap
Point is, Robinhood actually has a reason to require 2 factor authentication (even though it’s optional on Robinhood)… DoorDash requiring it is nonsensical… Like requiring 2FA on Reddit…it’s a nice option for some, but just doesn’t make sense to require it when getting into the account has no financial consequences.
You do know someone can log into your doordash acc, change your bank info into theirs and pull out your earnings, right?
I’m talking about customer account, not a driver account…
How often do you place orders a day that 2 step verification have become an obstacle for you?
Probably about once every 1.5 weeks… when I’m in a time crunch (or my wife is just really hungry) and I don’t feel like dealing with DD headaches I’ll just order directly. I would definitely use DD a few times a week if the login process was a little easier to deal with. I can say that I’ve been with big groups on many occasions where I want to order a pizza or something, but dealing with DoorDash is unfortunately not an option because the one time I did this - added everyone’s items to my cart (with notes) and then clicked “Place Order” - I was greeted by a “two step verification” before I could proceed. Then I had to login to my “spam-friendly” email address that I use and waited like 5 minutes before realizing the code went to my spam folder.
