Okay guys listen. I have been finding a best antivirus to buy for a week.
The features I’m looking for in a antivirus are mainly - Malware protection,VPN,password manager and etc…
Finally I found three antiviruses that have features that I mention above. But here is the catch
Bitdefender - vpn is not good ,also keep logs
Total av - vpn keep logs
Norton - nothing bad about it
So should I buy Norton?? But reddit say it is a total trash
Hello,
This subreddit is mainly focused on antivirus software and malicious software removal topics.
For questions about VPNs, I would suggest asking in r/VPN.
For questions about password managers, I would suggest asking in r/PasswordManagers/.

Norton is trash. Might as well have a virus. Best option is to get anti virus without the password manager and VPN because they are just bundled add-ons. The password manager in most of them are terrible. I would do Bitdefender antivirus or ESET anti virus basic packages and then get 1Password or Proton password manager. And for VPN get Mullvad because most of them only have such high ratings due to paying or the writers using affiliate links trying to push them. Mullvad is a really solid VPN. The antivirus bundles are just trying to make an extra dollar for lacking products. Just went though the same thing and tested a lot of them.
Use separate products for your needs, for example:
Kaspersky Internet Security
1Password
ProtonVPN
If you consider it Kaspersky scored 100% in AV test with 0 comprised of false positives
Mullvad for VPN, squatted many times and they never found any logs. Also a lot cheaper. Also, read about this:

Bitwarden for Password Manager, it’s just superior, and it’s open source as well, and it’s completely free.
Antivirus… It’s a big discussion and various opinions exist, but let’s break them down:
- Windows Defender: a very good choice, if not perfect, if you use your pc as a normal human being, but has many false positives;
- Kaspersky: about this, many people say “it has been banned from the us, they are russians for sure trying to do somethin!!!”… im sorry for those people, but usa banned them because of the NSA server leaks, which also happened to be caused by an internal, where Kaspersky pointed (rightly) their finger against the NSA for producing malware, and since everything got leaked the entire world was at very high risk… so usa decided to ban them, maybe out of anger because kaspersky has a russian ceo and headquarter… only up to the americans to understand it… about this matter tho, american products are generally under feds control (Cloudflare, ExpressVPN, NordVPN, etc.), so you get your data leaked everyday, even if not in the public way ---------- objectively Kaspersky btw is one of the best, nearly 0 false positives and a lil bit better coverage than windows defender;
- Bitfender: heavy usage some times, not reccomended for everyday use, but also very good;
- ESET: only heard about it, but it seems a good competitor for Kaspersky;
- Every other one: do not use them, some can be used on some pcs with a normal case scenario, like Norton and Malwarebytes, but at this point i would raccomend going for windows defender.
Kaspersky for antivirus, Mullvad for VPN and Bitwrden for password manager
Completely avoid buying Norton, you might as well just not have any anti virus at all if you are thinking of buying that bloatware software.
G-DATA if you value your privacy. Uses both their own detection engine and bitdefenders engine. Also first antivirus company in the world.
No one knows about them because they don’t pay off these “independent” testers. With that said they’re still at/near the top.
Is AVG not considered good anymore?
Actually Malwarebytes isn’t as good as many people think it is. They are good at detecting adware but regarding detecting malware it’s worse than most of the popular names like Kaspersky, Bitdefender, ESET, etc. Many people don’t know that Malwarebytes doesn’t have signatures for script based malware. So If you have malware.vbs sitting in your PC somewhere a Malwarebytes scan won’t detect it.
Norton, Kaspersky and BitDefender the best. Most of Norton criticizes it for very old versions, Kaspersky for being Russian… those 3 almost always have perfect scores.
Microsoft Defender enhanced by DefenderUI + Malwarebytes Premium
(Disable “Register in Windows Center” option in MB settings, in order to make them coexist peacefully)
Kaspersky, Bitdefender and ESET. Independent testing labs rank the first two the highest. But also check out this source to see why Kaspersky is a bit ahead of Bitdefender: https://content.kaspersky-labs.com/se/media/top3/TOP3-2013-2023-en.pdf
For VPN, research Mullvard. For Password Manager, see KeePass or Bitwarden.

Bitdefender + NextDNS + ProtonVPN/Mullvad + 1Password/Bitwarden
Bitdefender, Kaspersky is about to be banned in the US.
My opinion:
Kaspersky Standard
hide.me VPN
Bitwarden password manager
Express vpn is very slow. Ip vanish is fastest. But both do not keep logs. I would suggest ipvanish
